A Quick & Easy Gorjuss Card

Hi there,

Wow, I can't believe we're almost at the end of February where is the time going?  It's the perfect time to make a start on those Christmas Cards!  Why not take a look at our new challenge The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge for some inspiration and play along with our fortnightly anything goes challenges,  the first one kicks off on Tuesday 7th March.  Follow us now to keep up to date with all our posts once we 'go live'.

In the meantime, here's my offering for today a very unChristmassy Gorjuss Card!

I've used a really quick and easy decoupage card making kit and added a sentiment and a few bits from my stash.  I really love the colours in this card - especially her hair!

Materials used:
Gorjuss mini decoupage kit by Papermania/Docrafts
LOTV Sentiment Stamp - Grungy Relatives
X-cut Oval and Scalloped Circle Nesting Dies
Cardstock, Buttons, Twine, Floral Trim & Gems all from stash.

That's all from me today, hope you're having a great weekend.

Hugs,
Shona xx

Simply Love at The Cutie Pie Challenge

Good morning!

I'm back with a scheduled post today to share my DT card for the Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our theme this week is 'Simply Love' so we'd love you to share your Valentine's (or any other suitable lovey dovey occasions) cards with us - just remember to include a cute character too!

This month we are being sponsored by the fantastic Sasayaki Glitter who have provided us with some fab digis to work with.

The gorgeous digi I chose is called You Got My Heart and I have coloured it with Promarkers.

I kind of made up my mind I was going to use this new embossing folder (a recent magazine freebie) on my card but I rather foolishly didn't have a layout in my head.  I started off by masking a heart shape that would remain un-embossed (is that even a thing?) but there wasn't enough contrast colourwise to look good so I decided to cut a gingham scalloped heart.  I also thought the embossing would look better if it was fussy cut to create a scalloped effect.  The rest just kind of evolved which is unusual for me - I usually have it all pre-planned in my head!  Sometimes it's nice to just go with the flow...

Materials Used:
Digi - Sasayaki Glitter - You Got My Heart
Promarkers
Embossing folder and sentiment - magazine freebies
Paper - Docrafts Papermania Christmas In The Country 12x12
Ribbon, twine, buttons & pearls from stash

That's all from me for now, hope your week gets off to a great start whatever you're up to!

Hugs,
Shona xx
